Quick start guide
What is a forum?
A forum is really just a better organised guestbook. What happens is that the Foundation sets general topics for people to write a message about (post). For instance some of the topics in our forum are "how to quit" and "helping others to quit".
How do I take part?
To view the discussion all you need to do is click here but to take part you will need to register.
Why register?
This means that you can take part in discussions, ask your own questions and get email alerts to discussions you are interested in. Don't worry, only we at the Foundation can see personal details about you. We never give these out to third parties. The only details which will be shown on the forum, apart from your message, is your username - so we advice you to choose something which won't identify you.
Who will be using the forum?
Well, hopefully you and anyone else who finds the forum interesting. The forum is primarily aimed at young people but anyone is welcome to join in.
We have a carefully selected group of young people who act as "moderators" to the forum. This means that any questions which are posted will be sent to them so that they can give their own advice.
How do I post a message?
When you have found a discussion that you want to post to, make sure you are logged in and then click the "post reply" button.
When you've sent your reply it will come to us so that we can review it and make any comments we think may help the users of the forum. We will then post your message to the forum.
How can you be emailed about a discussion?
At the bottom of each discussion there is a link called "subscribe". Click this if you want an email sent to you when anyone posts a reply.
Are you ready?!
