Tribute Funds are a positive and simple way for friends and family to remember a loved one and, in their name, help fund vital research into early detection and treatment of lung cancer.
In recent years, an increasing number of people have decided to remember someone special by making gifts in their name to The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. These are special and meaningful gifts.
Many of our supporters have told us they would like to continue to support the Foundation in the name of their loved one, as a very positive way to keep their spirit alive, and at the same time support our vital research to help future generations.
With this in mind, we have established a very special opportunity called Tribute Funds.
What it really means to people
We know that for many people, Tribute Funds are a very special way to give thanks for the life of a loved one.
Kay Williams lost her father to lung cancer in 2003.
 Opening a Tribute Fund in memory of my Dad, Alan Arthur, was a wonderful way to keep his memory alive. He will always be in my heart but this Tribute Fund will help achieve positive results from something negative. It is a way to say “This is for you, Dad” but also to help others along the way.
Thank you so much for giving me somewhere to put my energy and grief. It’s an unexpected opportunity. This has given me a great sense of achievement. I desperately wanted to do something positive for Dad. I feel I have and now look forward to watching the Fund grow from strength to strength. Dad would be delighted.
How a Tribute Fund is set up
A Tribute Fund is easy to set up. Simply complete and return the request for information and we’ll do the rest. If you decide to proceed, we will be pleased to set up a Fund for you and send you an information pack to give you all that you need. Our online service is a quick and easy way for you to encourage donations in tribute to your loved one. It is also a highly efficient way to help us continue our vital work.
Friends and family around the world can donate to your loved one’s Tribute Fund by credit and debit card.
There is no complex administration and we will provide everything you need – from inspiring you with ideas, to helping you tell friends and family. We’ll also keep track of each donation as it comes into the Tribute Fund and keep you updated regularly on how it’s growing.
How to help the Fund grow
Family, friends and colleagues can support the Fund in any way that is right for them. Some people may decide to make monthly gifts, or to make donations on special occasions or significant dates like a birthday.
Others may participate in sponsored events, like bike rides or runs, or raise funds by organising a dance, golf event, auction, party or quiz. Do whatever feels right to you.
