Schools fundraising
We are fortunate that many schools and colleges across the country take part in a variety of fundraising activities for the Foundation. We will be holding our second Big Book Bonanza during November as part of Lung Cancer Awareness Month and we are aiming to raise over £50,000 with this initiative. In addition to raising much needed funds for the Foundation, we hope participation will benefit students by encouraging creativity and provide some fun too! If you think that this is something your school would like to take part in then you can download a pack which is full of ideas and information here. Alternatively, you can contact Sue on 0871 220 5424 or by emailing reess@roycastle.liv.ac.uk
As we are keenly aware of other fundraising needs, for this one event we would be happy to see that your school or college retains 25% of any monies raised, to go towards projects of your own.
Schools have raised monies for us in so many different ways from ‘naming the teddy’, sponsored walks, sponsored silences, non-uniform days and recycling. Not only does this deliver much needed funds for us but it also has benefits for pupils that include raising community awareness and responsibility; boosting self esteem; promoting teamwork and encouraging creativity.
Choosing to fundraise on our behalf also provides opportunities to raise awareness about the connection between smoking and ill health and to also direct both staff and pupils to our KATS website for additional information.
