I Quit 'Record Breaker' Campaign

Smoking is the single biggest cause of cancer in the world and accounts for one in four UK cancer deaths. The good news is that quitting can greatly reduce your risk of cancer and increase your life expectancy.

If you Create your own online sponsorship page you will benefit from extra motivation from family and friends who through their sponsorship will encourage you in your quit attempt which will raise vital funds for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Get extra motivation every time your phone rings by downloading one of our ring tones. Select from the two ring tones and text the words BREAKER or DEDICATION, followed by MONO or POLY or REAL to 84222. It will cost £2 with over £1 coming to the Foundation. Both ring tones were associated with the TV show Record Breakers which was co presented by Roy Castle and Cheryl Baker. Cheryl as quoted below has pledged her support to this campaign and has recorded the ring tone as a tribute to Roy.

"I was thrilled when The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation asked me support this exciting and important 'Record Breaker' Attempt to Quit Smoking.

"It was 20 years ago when I used to co-present Record Breakers with my late dear friend Roy Castle. As you know he died from lung cancer due to passive smoking and many would say that it was Roy who first brought the risks of second hand smoke to the attention of the general public.

"I cannot think of a more fitting testimony to Roy for the charity that has his name to be encouraging all those people who want to quit smoking when the smoking ban in public places comes into effect on July 1st. I wish every individual and the charity the best of luck in this important health initiative that could save thousands of lives."
