Welcome to the Parents/Teachers Zone

The Parent/Teacher Zone is aimed at anybody who has contact with young people - parents, teachers, youth workers etc.

The various sections look at why young people smoke and how, as someone in contact with young people, you can address the issue. There is advice on how to approach the subject and sources of extra advice and support, both for yourself as well as the young person.

Details of the Liverpool School Children's Longitudinal Study on Smoking can also be found in this section. The research takes a person-centred look at children's intentions, behaviour, knowledge and beliefs about smoking. Based on this research, a training package, 'The World of Tobacco', was developed to look at issues including the tobacco industry, the environment and our bodies. You can access information and an order form for the Tacade World of Tobacco training package, by clicking on the 'Training' icon.

Any feedback or comments that you may have about this section and/or the site as a whole will be gratefully appreciated and can be passed on via the 'Parent/Teacher Guest Book'.

We hope that you enjoy this section and the site as a whole!
