Accessing new Drugs
How do I access new Drugs?
If you would like to be considered for receiving any new drug treatment on the NHS, you should do the following:
- Make sure that your oncologist (cancer doctor) agrees that you would be suitable it.
- Get your oncologist to write to your Primary Care Trust (PCT) requesting funding (contact your local Patient Liaison Officer for support during this process).
- Get second opinion letters for other lung cancer specialists to support your case.
- Ask your local MP to either meet with or write to the Chief Executive of your PCT
