Our tribute is to Alan Costello-Smith [previously Alan Smith] who died unexpectedly on 6 th October 2007 at the age of 52.  The cause of death showed ‘Lung Cancer’ although this had never been diagnosed.

This was a huge shock to family and friends as Alan showed none of the symptoms and had never smoked. He had, however, suffered from chronic Asthma all of his life and his management of this may have masked the hidden condition. Alan was a popular, sociable and much loved character who made an ordinary day into a party and lived life to the full. He had a positive outlook on life and would always urge us to ‘think happy thoughts’ during difficult times.
