Hobbies: Throwing myself out planes (see picture), travel, reading, theatre and scuba diving.
Name: Mike Grundy
Job Title: Deputy Chief Executive
About Me: I joined in 2005, initially as Finance Director. Since then, I have been involved in virtually every aspect of developing the charity, working to ensure we can achieve our objectives of providing gold-standard information, support where and when most needed, and funding for innovative research. I have been Deputy Chief Executive since March 2017.
Why I Work for Roy Castle: Because people with lung cancer – and those who care for them – have too often been forgotten and neglected. They deserve more, and should rightly expect better.
Hobbies: I love the ‘Great Outdoors’ – camping and getting into our wonderful environment. When it comes to sport and recreation, I much prefer taking part to just watching, so I love to race motorbikes (I’ve been third and runner up in the Ace of Aintree championship and I’m determined to win it), go horse-riding or diving. My secret unfulfilled ambition? I’d love to have been a rock star – in a proper heavy band like Black Sabbath or Hawkwind!
