50/50 Enterprise Competition

Registration fee: Free
7th October 2019 North West

Encouraging the entrepreneurial spark in children, our 50/50 Enterprise Competition is a free school competition to bring out a budding Lord Alan Sugar or Deborah Meaden.

Sponsored by:

The 50/50 Enterprise Competition is a project run by Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, sponsored by Parent Apps, to turn £50 seed money in to as much money as possible whilst working in teams.

A practical way to help Year 5 primary school students to learn basic principles of business, the 50/50 Enterprise Competition encourages children to use innovation, solve problems and engage with the local community as they seek to maximise their profits.

All profits made throughout the competition will then be used by our charity to fund vital research projects or support lung cancer patients and their families.

Primary schools across Merseyside have been invited to take part in this free competition that takes place from 7th October until 20th December. Schools that enter will be supported by a mentor from the corporate world, so the race is on to see who will be crowned as the 50/50 Enterprise champions.

To mark the end of the 50 days of the competition, and the hard work that has been put in, an award ceremony will be held where childrens will present their ideas and results. We will bring together the students and the mentors for a celebration of success in the local community.

There will be three prizes awarded at the ceremony:

  • Highest income generated: This award will be presented to the group that raises the highest profit from the original investment of £50.
  • Most innovative business: This award will be presented to the group that the judges feel have demonstrated the most creativity in their Enterprise challenge.
  • Best team work: This award will be presented to the group that the judges feel have demonstrated the most creativity in their Enterprise challenge.

In the past a whole host of challenges have been undertaken and we look forward to seeing what people come up with this year.
