Cycle London to Geneva

As well as cycling through the beautiful Somme region, unspoilt French countryside and some the world’s most famous vineyards, you will get to watch the final stage of the Tour de France – live in the heart of Paris.

You’ll then continue your own tour, taking on the Tour de France Col-Col de la Faucille (1,323m) before ending in style beside stunning Lake Geneva.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Your challenge starts at 7am, taking you from Kent to Dover. You’ll then catch the ferry to Calais. Cycling distance: 138km / 86 miles
  • Day 2: France awaits as you cycle from Calais to Arras. Sights include: Charming French villages and quiet country lanes. Cycling distance: 129km / 80 miles
  • Day 3: Continue cycling through France. Sights include: WWI memorials and monuments through the Region of the Somme. Cycling distance: 119km / 74 miles.
  • Day 4: Perfect Paris, where you’ll finish stage one overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Sights include: Iconic Paris landmarks including Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower. Cycling distance: 109km / 68 miles.
  • Day 5: The day is yours. Explore this beautiful city, or maybe watch the finale of the Tour de France!
  • Day 6: Back on your bike and au revoir to Paris! Sights include: Traditional towns and villages including Sens with Cathedral St-Etienne. Cycling distance: 138km / 86 miles
  • Day 7: Sens to Saulieu.Sights include: Morvan National Park Cycling distance: 158km / 98 miles
  • Day 8: Saulieu to Lons-le-Saunier.Sights include: Beaune – the capital of Burgundy wines and the old Roman spa town of Lons-le-Saunier Cycling distance: 163km / 101 miles
  • Day 9: The final day… and the most challenging. Sights include: Juras Mountains, Col del la Faucille and a well-deserved celebratory meal in Geneva Cycling distance: 117km / 73 miles
  • Day 10: Flight back to the UK where you’ll be reunited with your beloved bike.

Requirements

Cycle London to Geneva is open to anyone over the age of 18. It is one of our most extreme cycling challenges. You will be cycling for four consecutive days. You will then have one rest day in Paris, before completing another four consecutive days of cycling. You can expect to be in the saddle for an average of 7-8 hours a day, covering a distance of approximately 1071 km / 665 miles.

If you sign up for Cycle London to Geneva challenge, you will need to fitness train beforehand and a full training will be provided in your welcome pack. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy this challenge.

Ferry from Dover to Calais. Return flight and bike transfer back into the UK.

Payment options

There are two different payment options for the Cycle London to Geneva challenge:

Option A: Raise a minimum sponsorship

  • Pay £199 registration fee to Global Adventure Challenge
  • Raise a minimum £3320 sponsorship for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
  • 80% of the minimum sponsorship must be in the account at least 11 weeks before the challenge departure date. All outstanding sponsorship must be sent to the charity within six weeks of completing the challenge.
  • Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation will be invoiced by Global for the remaining balance of the Challenge 10 weeks prior to departure.

Option B: Self-funding option

  • Pay £199 registration fee to Global Adventure Challenge
  • Pay the cost of the challenge (£1660) 11 weeks before departure
  • If you wish, you can also raise additional funds to support Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
