A 25 mile trek along the magnificent Roman Wall – will you invade in 2020?
The challenge is to trek 25 miles along Hadrian’s Wall – one wall, one epic adventure in just one weekend! The journey takes you from Lanercost Priory to Brocolitia heading in an easterly direction, and features breathtaking views and fascinating ruins. The most remarkable Roman monument in the country, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hadrian’s Wall cuts through Northumberland National Park and attracts trekkers from far and wide. The walks, set in such stunning countryside embedded with its fascinating history, make an amazing weekend challenge.
This challenge is open to anyone over the age of 18. It has been designed to be challenging but achievable for anyone who has fitness-trained beforehand. Remember, you will be trekking for two consecutive days, for around 7-8 hours a day.
Whether you join as an individual or team, and no matter what distance you chose, we’ ll fully support you all the way, and it might be the most rewarding weekend you’ve had in years. We will provide you with hints and tips for fundraising and training, as well as fundraising materials and a bespoke RCLCF sports technical t-shirt to wear on the day.
You’ll also be provided with free tented accommodation, hot meals, drinks and snacks as well as support vehicles and medics on hand.
