Sunday 22nd September 2019 is a new date for your diary. The Scottish 10K is a fantastic addition to the UK’s running calendar:
Seriously flat and rapid
The route is both flat and rapid – if you want to set a personal best for a half marathon or 10K, then this is the event for you. Starting just outside Edinburgh, you run along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse. If you’ve never run before or this will be your 100th running event – you can’t afford to miss out on this one. It’s fresh and exciting – why not give it a go and help us raise funds in the process? Come and be a part of it!
Age: 15 or over.
Course time limit: The Scottish 10K will operate a strict maximum cut off time of 1 hour 30 minutes for all participants. The 10K is a serious athletics endurance race which requires a large amount of appropriate training and preparation in order to complete it safely. Therefore we strongly discourage participants who do not intend to complete the course within this time limit. Any runner who does not complete the course in 1 hour 30 minutes will not be permitted to complete the race and will not receive a result.
A sweeper bus follows the race at 1 hour 45 minute pace and if you are passed by the sweep bus at any point and for any reason, you will be asked to get onto the bus which will transport you back to the Finish area at the earliest possible opportunity. If you decide to not get onto the sweep bus, your running number is recorded and you are removed from the race, from this point onwards you will be continuing independently of the event and at your own risk. You will be recorded as a DNF within the results of the event.
Your result information: A full list of results will be published online, on the results page of the event website following each race. Full and final results will also be made available to relevant parties for the purposes of verification for other events or for the updating of ranking systems.
