2017 is a particularly important year for us; this is the year we launch our Lung Health MOT Check (page 4). One of the primary reasons lung cancer survival rates are not in line with many other cancers is because the majority of cases are diagnosed too late. This is no one's fault; lung cancer is difficult to detect with symptoms often only surfacing once the cancer is at an advanced stage. This means we have to find ways to detect lung cancer earlier because it will save lives.
Within this edition, you'll hear from two incredible people - Gaynor (page 16) and Terry (page 6) - both of whom had their lung cancer caught early, were suitable for surgery and had the tumours successfully removed. Lung cancer screening saves lives. Early detection saves lives. It saved Gaynor's life. It saved Terry's. Now we need to save more lives.
