Research

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is a UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the early detection of lung cancer to increase long term survival and improve patient experience. Since 2012, the charity has funded research via an open grants round and 36 research grants have been awarded in the areas of early detection and patient experience.

Since the Covid 19 pandemic, it has become apparent that many clinician scientists who would traditionally submit requests for our research funding are overstretched by workload and unable to dedicate time for research.  On reviewing our Research Strategy, and following discussion with the wider community, the charity is now investing in the next generation of lung cancer researchers and is proud to launch its Clinical Research Fellowship (CRF) funding programme.
