Strictly Ballroom 2017
in association with Slater and Gordon
Strictly Come Dancing is one of the BBC’s longest running and most popular TV programmes. Viewers are mesmerised by the sequins and enthralled by the progress of the celebrities that take part. Strictly Ballroom is Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s very own version of this hit programme.
Working with a professional choreographer we provide members of the public with the unique opportunity to receive 10 hours of dance tuition from a professional ballroom dancer. The professionals that we provide also compete on the international ballroom circuit. They work hard with our contestants, who are often surprised at their own capabilities, and the results are astounding. The whole experience is captured in a video that is shown at the grand final where our contestants perform in front of a live audience. They are interviewed by a host and receive comments and scores from a judging panel. It really is just like the television show!
Congratulations to our 2017 contestants:
Ana Illeria-Lopez, Anna Spencer-Gray, Cheryl Best, Dominic Smith, Ellie Birks, Eve Labeque, Frank Daniel, Mark Daniel, Sandra Barlow
Thank you to all our contestants, group dancers, professional dancers and all who attended Strictly Ballroom to make it a fabulous evening.
