Strictly Come Dancing is one of the BBC’s longest running and most popular TV programmes. Viewers are mesmerised by the sequins and enthralled by the progress of the celebrities that take part. Strictly Ballroom is Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s very own version of this hit programme.
Working with talented dancers and choreographers at Martin's Dance School, this year's competitors will receive 10 hours of private dance tuition from a professional ballroom/latin dancer, working to perfect their chosen dance.
Welcoming all ages and abilities, the dancers work tirelessly with our contestants, many of whom are often surprised at their own capabilities, and the results are astounding! The whole experience is captured in a video that is shown at the grand final where our contestants perform in front of a live audience. They are interviewed by a host and receive comments and scores from a judging panel. It really is just like the television show!
All contestants receive:
- 10 weeks of private dance lessons with the wonderful instructors from Martin’s Dance Centre
- Your ballroom or Latin outfit
- Professional hair and make-up
- Drinks reception
- Three-course meal
- The opportunity to perform in front of a live audience at the Holiday Inn, Liverpool including our Strictly Ballroom judges.
