I've only started this tradition this year but I plan to put on a music gig every year for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation in memory of my mum, Christina. She was never a smoker and she was very healthy, but in 2002 we discovered mum had terminal lung cancer and in a couple of months on 13th December 2002 she passed away peacefully at home.
I was only 9 years old. I was so devastated. The only way I coped was by throwing myself into music. I am a singer and she was my number one fan. I would always sing to her. That's why I put on the music gigs for her memory. I want music to raise money to help people suffering with lung cancer and their families, like music helped me when I was mourning her loss.
